Tell us a bit about yourself or your band.

Illusions of Grandeur is a Theatrical Hard Rock/Fantasy Metal band based in Los Angeles, CA. Illusions of Grandeur has been touring in both the United States as well as across the UK, Germany, France, and the Ukraine since 2016. I.O.G. have made appearances at various festivals including Rockfest, Brewstock, Metal Manali, Sav Fest, Extreme Metal Mayhem Festival MI, Dewey Beach Music Festival and Witney Music Festival. Illusions of Grandeur has shared the stage with artists as varied as DOPE, Motograter, September Mourning, New Year’s Day, Puddle of Mudd, Stryper, República, Stitched up Heart and Otep.

Illusions of Grandeur Live show The Siren Saga is a story of the journeys, perils, and triumphs of the Siren and her warriors. The story mixes facts and fiction combining Greek and Norse Mythology, Sirens, Gods, Archangels.

Illusions of Grandeur’s fierce and energetic live show has gained them a legion of fans dubbed “The Siren Nation” who follow them worldwide, at live shows, and on social media.

How would you describe your sound or style?

Illusions of Grandeur’s music could be described as a mix metalcore, industrial and power metal as if Korn, In This Moment Avatar and Nine Inch Nails had a child

Who/How Came Up With The Band Name?

The name originated from a time when Maggie “The Siren” was seeking out other musicians to form a band. A lot of the ads said, “No Illusions of Grandeur here” meaning they just wanted to play music, Maggie thought “Why no Illusions of Grandeur?” Life is short, go for what you dream and want!

What first got you into music?

Music has been a part of my life since I was a child. My dad was a musician, and I followed in his footsteps. I’ve always been in music in some capacity; from theatre to chorus and bands.

The idea of Illusions of Grandeur is to create a world and tell the story of “The Siren” and her journeys. IOG’s love of both history and Greek/Norse Mythology felt that this was the best medium way to create a world for “The Siren Saga.”

IOG feels that when listening to music or seeing a live show you should be able to immerse yourself in that moment and take a journey of your own with the band.

If you could collaborate with any band/musician, who would it be?

Illusions of Grandeur would consider it a dream to collaborate with Maria Brik of In This Moment or Jonathon Davis from Korn as both have heavily inspired Illusions of Grandeur as a band.

What inspires your music or creativity right now?

Creativity right now? Loving the new wave of music happening with the likes of Sleep Token and Mammoth WVH, blending sounds from rock and metal.

Tell us about latest single you have released

MIDNIGHT25 Illusion of Grandeur’s newest single. Midnight came together during the sessions for our last album “The Siren” (2022 Revolution of Spirt Records) and was originally written and inspired by the Netflix series “Wednesday” The latest version MIDNIGHT25 was rerecorded with our new producer Brandon Wolfe here in LA. We felt the song really needed a new life and an updated sound, so we (along with a ton of requests from our friends and fans “The Siren Nation!) decided to revisit it. We love how it came out!

What would you say is your Bands favorite song to play live is?

I would have to say “Her Flag Means Death” because of its grove, it really shows off the bands playing and updated Metalcore/Industrial style.

What are the bands plan for 2026?

Lots of new music! “The Siren Rises PT2: The Ascension” is coming in early 2026, with blistering new tracks as well as US, European and UK tours! All being announced soon! Check out www.iogmusic.com for details.
